Scientific Abstract Guidelines
STYLE
Text: All text should be entered as Arial font size 12. For Greek and scientific symbols (alpha, beta, etc.), use the Symbol option on the tool bar, do not copy from other documents. For example: α-helix, β cells.
Length: The abstract should be 300 words max. The abstract title, authors’ names, affiliation, support sources, and references are NOT counted toward this allotment.
Format: All documents must be submitted as an Adobe PDF file (.pdf)
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Abstracts cannot contain data already accepted for publication in any online or Pub-Med indexed venue at the time of abstract submission. Abstracts cannot contain data previously presented at a national meeting within the USA at the time of abstract submission.
- Authorship on multiple abstracts is permitted.
- Abbreviations that are familiar to researchers are acceptable without explanation.
- For laboratory parameters, the units of measurement and normal ranges must be provided.
- Statements about ongoing studies or pending results should be avoided.
- Do not include figures, tables or references.
ABSTRACT INSTRUCTIONS
Abstract Title: Use title case for the entire title.
Author and Affiliation: Enter all the author names and affiliations. Refer to the examples below.

SUBMISSION FEE
Abstract and Registration Fees: All presenters are required to pay the abstract submission fee ($50) and the registration fee.
Submission of the abstract does not automatically register you for the 2024 Rachmiel Levine-Arthur Riggs Diabetes Research Symposium. The presenting author agrees to pay the abstract submission fee ($50), register and attend the Symposium.
POST SUBMISSION
Selection Process:
- Abstracts are reviewed by a Committee and notification of all acceptance/rejection entries will be sent to the author by July 22, 2024.
- Accepted abstracts may be published in the program syllabus or onsite at the meeting.
Oral Presentations - Ten (10) authors will be selected and invited for oral presentation.
Poster Session - Authors not selected for oral presentation will be invited to present their work at a Poster Session on September 21, 2024.
