Hematologic diseases have witnessed cutting-edge innovations related to diagnosis and treatment. It is important to stay updated about recent advances. Rare hematologic diseases are often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

Current trends in rare hematologic diseases are not well addressed. This adversely impacts patient care and disease outcome. Gaining knowledge on the will improve future patient management and research.

Pathologists, pathology residents/fellows, hematologists, oncologists and researchers

Learning Objectives

  • Outline recent advances in rare hematologic diseases.
  • Discuss innovations related to underrecognized hematologic diseases.
  • Integrate and participate in multidisciplinary approach to management of rare hematologic diseases.
  • Utilize this knowledge for future research related to rare hematologic diseases.
  • Discuss possible barriers and biases which may impact patient care (i.e., race, ethnicity, language, gender identity/orientation, age, socioeconomic status, attitudes, feelings, or other characteristics).
