2022 Department of Medicine Grand Rounds | Pulmonary Hypertension in Oncology Patients: Assessment and Management
We do not have expertise in pulmonary hypertension (PH) nor the cardiovascular sequelae of COVID19 infection. At present, we have to refer patients with pulmonary hypertension to tertiary care centers with expertise in primary pulmonary hypertension. We would like to learn more about this disease and COVID19 in an effort to enhance the care we provide at City of Hope.
City of Hope staff will benefit from the knowledge of the pathophysiology of these diseases will increase physician awareness of these entities, so that we know appropriate indications for patient transfer or referral to centers capable of managing primary PH or severe cardiac disease resulting from COVID19. We will establish ties with other medical centers willing to accept patients we diagnose with PH.
