2021 Pediatric Grand Rounds | Risk Stratification and Treatment of First Relapse of B-ALL: The Children’s Oncology Group Approach

Duarte, CA US
July 22, 2021

The most recent Children's Oncology Group (COG) trial incorporates PD1 inhibition into relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) therapy, which is being introduced for the first time in this context.  This trial also builds on the prior relapsed ALL trial, results of which are still being compiled.  There is a need to inform practitioners of the evidence behind the current COG trial for relapsed ALL and results from the prior trial, in order to apply the current state of the field to the management of relapsed pediatric ALL therapy. The purpose of this lecture is to update pediatric leukemia specialists on the most recent COG protocol for relapsed pediatric ALL, AALL1821.

Target Audience

City of Hope Pediatric Hematology/Oncology physicians, Advance practice practitioners, City of Hope staff and research teams.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify indications for eligibility for AALL1821, the Children's Oncology Group (COG) relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) trial.
  • Examine the status of the current literature that incorporates PD1 inhibition into ALL therapy.
  • Examine current outcomes for pediatric ALL patients who received therapy as per the prior COG protocol for relapsed ALL.
