2022 Pediatric Grand Rounds | Challenges and Strategies to Enhance CAR T Cell Efficacy, From Bedside to Bench and Back

Duarte, CA US
June 9, 2022

CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have shown ≥80% of remission in pediatric B-ALL with multiply relapsed/refractory disease. Unfortunately, long-term follow-up has revealed a significant proportion of patients relapse following CAR T therapy. Better understanding of mechanisms leading to resistance and relapse as well as strategies to enhance CAR T cell efficacy could lead to future development of more effective therapies.

Target Audience

City of Hope Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Physicians, Advance Practice Practitioners, City of Hope staff and research teams.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain mechanisms leading to therapeutic resistance and relapse.
  • Describe novel strategies to enhance CAR T cell efficacy.
  • Assess pre-clinical advances in the field of CAR T cell therapy.
