2022 Pediatric Grand Rounds | Pathogenic or Likely Pathogenic Germline Variants in Cancer Predisposition or DNA Repair Genes and Risk of Subsequent Neoplasms Among Survivors of Childhood Cancer
Advances in genomic technologies have led to improved evaluation of germline DNA. The significance of identified mutations is continually being assessed and updated. This session is devoted to presenting the most current understanding of germline mutations and their impact on patient outcomes among children with cancer. The purpose of this lecture is to inform pediatric oncologist of the presence and significance of germline cancer mutations among children with cancer by an expert in the field.
Target Audience
City of Hope Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Physicians, Advance Practice Practitioners, City of Hope staff and research teams.
Learning Objectives
- Identify pathogenic or likely pathogenic germline mutations among childhood cancer patients.
- Integrate therapeutic interventions for those with clones that have pathogenic germline mutations.
- Assess translational opportunities to expand the data pool for assessing pathogenic germline cancer mutations among children with cancer.
