2024 Endocrinology Grand Rounds | Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): New Guidelines and Basic Principles

Duarte, CA US
March 13, 2024

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common multifaceted endocrine syndrome with complex origins. There is a need for clinicians to stay abreast of both the diagnosis and treatment of PCOS.
New treatment strategies need to be reviewed, and there is a great need to create awareness of the associated comorbid risks, that in turn may lead to early prevention.

There is a growing number of referrals for evaluation and treatment of PCOS and obesity. It is imperative to be aware of its many clinical manifestations, including subfertility and insulin resistance.  To adhere with City of Hope's vision to "cure Diabetes", there is a need to address and learn the different pathologies. By learning how PCOS and insulin resistance is associated with diabetes and fatty liver, clinicians will be able to implement early management strategies and get closer to ideal practice, and prevent diabetes.

Target Audience
